Este fabuloso amplificador é um dos melhores exemplos de amplificadores japoneses que se destacam, não só por serem diferentes, mas sobretudo porque soam mesmo bem. Infelizmente, este exemplar chegou às minhas mãos a soar um pouco menos bem. Inicialmente, parecia que podia ser só condensadores em fim de vida e decidimos fazer um recap completo. Efetivamente, pareceu ter ajudado, mas não tardou muito e os problemas voltaram: saída intermitente e ruídos repentinos e aleatórios. Depois de uma boa pesquisa na Internet descobri que alguns dos transistores usados nesses amplificadores fazem parte do grupo de transistores que tendem a falhar com o decorrer dos anos. É um fenómeno bem conhecido e envolve uma boa quantidade de modelos sobretudo das décadas de 70 e 80 (mais informações e modelos em concreto, com os sintomas típicos encontra aqui neste tópico do conhecido forum Audiokarma). Neste caso em concreto eram o 2SC871 (que troquei por 2SC1845) e o 2SA640 (que troquei por 2SA992). Depois dessa troca, o amplificador ficou a trabalhar lindamente. E sim, confirma-se, tem um som fora do comum, muito musical, analógico, a palavra "delicado" faz-me sentido aqui. Mas no bom sentido. E além disso, estes aparelhos são bonitos. Infelizmente esqueci-me de tirar foto.

This very special amplifier is one of the best examples for Japanese amplifiers that really stand out, not only for being different, but especially because they really sound great. Unfortunately, this one came to my hands sounding not so good. Initially, I was convinced this could be due to electrolytic caps that were too old and we decided to do a full recap. It really seemed to have improved, but then, shortly after, the problems came back: intermittent sound and sudden noises. After a careful research on the internet, I found out that some of the transistors that were employed in this amp were part of the list of the transistors that often fail due to aging. This is a well known phenomenon and affects especially certain models from the 70s and 80s (more info you can find in this thread of the well know forum Audiokarma). Here specifically the problem was caused by the 2SC871 (I changed it for 2SC1845) and the 2SA640 (which I changed for 2SA992). After changing these transistors, the amp was again working just great. And yes, I can confirm, this amp has a really special sound, very musical, analogic, I think the word "delicate" is adequate. But in a good sense. Besides that, these amplifiers are beautiful. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of this one.
